My grandson likes Mario so I made him a personalized "Mario" doll.
Total Time: 1 1/2 hours
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- felt scraps
- 1 small piece muslin
- iron-on transfer paper
- sewing supplies
- craft glue
- 2 yellow buttons
Steps:
- I used some doll patterns I printed off the internet to make this Mario doll. I printed off three copies of the pattern so I could make the pattern pieces for the clothing.
- Print a picture from microsoft word onto tshirt transfer paper following instructions on the tshirt transfer paper box. Allow transfer to dry for at least 30 minutes. Using no steam iron, iron the transfer to a piece of muslin. When 30 minutes are up, peel the backing of the transfer sheet away from printed picture.
- Meanwhile, cut out pattern pieces for clothing from the copies of the doll pattern. Using these pieces, pin to colored felt and cut out. Using the doll pattern, cut out two from flesh colored felt. Note: I cut out two rectangles for the overall straps and taped to the overall pattern.
- Using craft glue, begin assemblying the doll by gluing the two body pieces and then the printed face, followed by each of the clothes, hands, shoes, and hat.
- Let dry and trim around the doll if necessary.
