My grandson is involved in soccer and has a bedroom decorated with a soccer theme. I thought he would enjoy this handmade "statue" of him in his soccer uniform. This is a fun and fairly easy project if you have skills using a scroll saw. Otherwise, you might be able to use stiff cardboard and a razor blade knife to get similar results.
Total Time: 1 hour
Yield: 1
Supplies:
- 1 photograph
- scroll saw
- glue stick
- mod podge
- paint brush
- 1 by 4 inch wood for stand
- 1/2 inch thick wood for backing of photograph
- router
- 2 wood screws
- miter saw
- hand drill
Steps:
- First, print out desired photograph, preferably a whole body shot
- Glue photograph to a piece of 1/2 inch thick wood and let dry.
- Using a scroll saw, cut around the silhouette of the photograph.
- Using a paint brush and mod podge, apply a few layers of mod podge, letting it dry inbetween coats.
- Make a stand for the statue using a piece of wood longer than the bottom of the statue, with 1 to 2" on either side of the statue. Use a mitre saw to cut the wood. Router the edges if desired. Attach the statue to the wood base by predrilling the base and bottom of the statue and use two screws from the bottom of the base through the wood to the bottom of the statue.

I suppose I could do one for you. Were you thinking of just one or more than one? Would have to pay for shipping it to you as well.
