I have a problem with my Pfaff 138 sewing machine. The needle position is stuck on zig zag, the dial can be adjusted and there's a slight change in the width of the zig zag, but when the dial is set on middle position and "0" it results in needle position to the right and still zigzagging.
I thought it was an oiling problem since the machine is a second hand machine and I don't know how it was maintained before I purchased it. However, oiling didn't solve the problem.
Can I solve this problem on my own or should it be fixed be a professional?

If you used proper sewing machine lubrication (not WD) and the machine is still stuck, bring it in for servicing.

These machines can be tricky and although one thing looks wrong it can be something entirely different.
