The outer rim of a disposable aluminum pie pan works well to keep pie crust from browning too much. Cut the rim of the pie pan and place it on top of the pie crust while baking.

This is a great tip! I found a metal pie protector at a garage sale one time for 50 cents but I only have the one. This Thanksgiving, I baked my pies one at a time but this is a good fix for the future.
