The outer rim of a disposable aluminum pie pan works well to keep pie crust from browning too much. Cut the rim of the pie pan and place it on top of the pie crust while baking.

This is so simple and logical! I've been doing this for years! I've kept the same cut pie rim and used it for nearly 20 years. :)
This is a great tip! I found a metal pie protector at a garage sale one time for 50 cents but I only have the one. This Thanksgiving, I baked my pies one at a time but this is a good fix for the future.

Thank you, I hope you did too. It was small compared to last year when many of my extended family came to my house but it was still pretty nice. I feel lucky that my adult teens are both still at home.
