You can do a mature play or movie, and use one color with various shades in the same family.
When I think mature, I think elegant...so maybe a tea with hot tea to drink, cute little desserts and even cucumber sandwiches. The table could be set with real linens in an elegant cream color or fall colors (oranges, browns, yellows).
Are you planning a teen boy or girl party? Do you plan on decorating at home and throwing a party at home?
I would just stick with simple colors , simple birthday banner, no themed parties like cartoons and such.
