I would be wary of planting flowers in the shade this time of year. It takes at least 7-14 days to sprout and 60 days for bloom.

The best way to know what and when you can plant in your area is to Google your local extension service. Use the name of the biggest state university plus the words extension service to find the website.

Most of the extension services have web pages geared to your specific area and are a wonderful resource!

There are Websites you can go to for that info. Burpee.com is a good one. Also Better Homes & Gardens.com Go to gardening section.Good Luck! : )
