Poor Man's Steak Recipes

June 5, 2009

Opening hamburger to prepare poor man's steak. This is cheap and easy to make, and it tastes great.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Soak the 2 slices of bread in the 1 cup of milk. Smash up the bread in the milk with your fingers. Add it to the ground beef, salt and pepper. Flatten out the meat mixture in a cookie sheet. Put in freezer long enough for it to get partially frozen. Cut the meat into patties, take out of the cookie sheet and roll in flour that has been seasoned with your favorite seasonings. I use garlic salt.

Heat a large skillet with enough oil to cover the bottom. Place the ground beef in the skillet brown the meat on both sides, It doesn't have to be cooked all the way through. Put your meat in a baking dish, that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix the mushroom soup and 1/2 can of milk together, you might need more milk you want the mixture spreadable. Add the small can of mushrooms to the mushroom mixture. Pour the soup mixture over the meat, and bake until the meat is done and the soup is bubbly. If you have any leftovers it makes a great sandwich the next day.You can serve it with a salad and mashed potatoes. It very good.
