Last night the power went out in the bedroom. The lights where flickering and the fan was starting and stopping. I checked the breaker box and none where tripped. Other rooms on the breaker had power. I reset the breakers and the bedroom is still out. All outlets do not work and the ceiling light is not working. What caused this to happen?

A device such as a switch, light or receptacle could have failed. A loose connection could have opened due to the circuit overheating. A rodent could have chewed through wiring.....
An electrician can check this out for you.
Electricity runs on a circuit (a loop). 120 VAC out from the breaker panel and the neutral going back to the neutral bus in the breaker panel. If you have a non contact voltage pen, you can see if the hot (120 VAC) is making it to the receptacles. An electrician would then meter the neutral and ground to see if the neutral is making it back to the panel (the neutral and ground are connected in the panel) By doing this, an electrician can determine where the open is.
how much did this cost to have an electrician make this repair
