Pravo Vaccination?

I just gave my pup her pravo shot. She's 5wks old. How long do you have to wait to let them come in contact with pravo? Can she be in contact right away and she won't get sick or wait a week?

First of all, you should never let a dog come in contact with another dog that you suspect has parvo. The parvo shot can't guarantee that your dog can never get parvo. It does help keep your dog from getting parvo but doesn't work 100% of the time.

Second, your puppy was too young to get the parvo shot. Parvo shots don't work before 6 weeks. For many dogs they don't start working until 8 weeks. Your dog will need continued boosters every few weeks until the series is finished or he will not be immune.

Your dog is too young to be around other dogs. She could get parvo, worms, distemper, etc. from other dogs. 5 weeks is a baby. Give the dog time to develop an immune system.
