As with most of life, a little forethought and organization cure many problems. I prepare a big meal for 8 to 14 once a week. I sit down and plan out my attack.

Desserts and bread get baked first. They are more temperature sensitive. Most baked items for main courses or sides can be either spaced so that as soon as one item comes out, change the temp. and continue. Or for example if you were doing baked potatoes and a meat or one dish type food, put the potatoes in before (or after) the other item(s).

Lots of things don't have to be at a very specific temp., you can adjust the time to accomodate higher or lower temps. Yes this means you will be in the kitchen more, however it also lessens the mad dash at the end!
