Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 239 Posts This pretty brooch is simple and sophisticated. It's easy to make too and you can make it out of recycled materials. Anyone would be delighted to receive this as a gift and it won't take you long to make.
Supplies:
- 1 small square of fabric
- needle and thread
- brooch pin
- small scrap of felt
- strong all purpose glue
- scissors
- old broken jewellery/odd earrings
Steps:
- Trim the corners off the fabric with a pair of sharp scissors to make it circular.
- Turn a narrow hem and beginning with a back stitch, make a running stitch all around.
- Gather it up.
- Secure with a couple of back stitches.
- Choose an embellishment out of your stash.
- I chose a link off a broken bracelet that can be sewn in place. You can also use glue if you wish.
- Cut a small square of felt.
- Trim it into a circle and check that it fits on the back of the brooch.
- Sew the brooch pin to the felt.
- Cut a tiny square of felt.
- Check it that it fits and glue it in place.
- Glue the whole of the back piece onto the back of the brooch.
- Make sure the glue has dried properly and everything is firmly in place before wearing.
Doesn't it look pretty!
