I took a picture of the Vons/Safeway policy while at self check out. They have a Price Accuracy Guarantee, where if you are overcharged and the item is less than $5, it will be free. And, if it was more than $5, you will get a gift card and price adjustment.
I will be sending this information to my dad so he can keep this in his photos, in case he gets overcharged here. He often gets overcharged and they just give him his price difference back, and never follow their guarantee policy. It is a hassle for my dad because sometimes he even drives back to the store.
A lot of stores are now implementing price accuracy so you can feel comfortable and safe shopping at their stores.

My store does this for items up to $10. I got a box of $8 burgers a while back. You have to alert the cashier. They wont volunteer
Wow! That is a great catch you were able to find. No, they do not alert at all.
I caught the difference in posted price and the price I was charge at Vons in Torrance ( on Crenshaw Blvd and Lomita Blvd). I went back to the cashier and she found that the wrong price. She refund the difference but did not offer any gift card.
I've been overcharged in the past at my local Vons, but when they overcharge you, they never offer it to you, you have to ask. I did that a few months ago, but now, the other day, I was overcharged once again at the same Vons, and the clerk told me they no longer have the price accuracy policy. I don't know if it is all the Vons or just that one. They still had the sticker on the counter about the policy, though, so they must have forgot to take it off.
I was overcharged at Vons the other day and the clerk told me they no longer have the price accuracy guarantee. I thought it was still in place because the sticker was posted on the counter.
