I have an appliance rated at 17.6 amps. What type of plug, receptacle, wire, and breaker is required?

This is something you do not want to get wrong, contact professional!
Most general purpose circuits are designed for up to 20 amps.
I would check with your local community to see if you have regulations around this before you do anything. We have really strict electrical codes where I live and you need to follow them.
I would hate to tell you what works in my town, only to find out it is a fire hazard in yours.
Sorry! Safety first here!
Each state and country have their own electrical standards that must be followed. These types of items are normally purchased at an electrical shop who specializes in these types of questions. It is advised that you go to the electrical shop and buy all your supplies such as a breaker box, circuit breakers, wiring, plugs and switches. Where I live the gage wire for receptacles is a different standard than for a normal switch and it also uses a different breaker for this circuit.
