I had an upper molar, 5th tooth from the right, pulled and the dentist forgot to take the whole tooth from top of the gum, a part was left. Eating food made it infected and I have to wait to get it pulled because the dentist isn't available according to the company. They drained the infection. What can I put over the hole so food won't get inside it and hurt it again?

there are different things folks do with their teeth that can help
- i'm not sure anything can be put in the hole per se, save an actual crown/whatever, but I have seen different sorts of cover-up products in the pharmacy, such as temporary at home fillings. I believe they are less than $10. Just go to the dental section of the pharmacy to see where they sell temporary fillings
- oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice which works great not only to keep infections at bay but also to deodorize your mouth. You take a tablespoonful of oil, swish it in your mouth and make sure to feel the oil go between your teeth. It will go into the tooth area and clean it out
- i know many people who also gargle with over the counter hydrogen peroxide. I know folks who have managed to make an infection go away by doing this.
- garlic is a great natural anti-infection agent. YOu can put a clove of garlic on the affected area when you feel it acting up.
- in general if you are religious about cleaning, gargling, oil pulling etc after eating you should hopefully avoid problems
