Pruning huckleberry plants is not so difficult. In late winter or early spring, you can trim the dead leaves and branches. This will produce new growth on the plant during late spring to early summer.

However, if the plant is rather large it is best to do a severe pruning in late winter or early spring. Prune the branches almost to the ground. In three to four years, the plant will grow back and you will have a nice bush.

I think you meant to write "severe pruning" as opposed to serve pruning. Am I correct?
