Gold Post Medal for All Time! 677 Posts If you run out of iced tea, you don't have to make a whole pitcher. Here's how to do it for one glass.
Total Time: 15-20 minutes
Yield: one glass
Ingredients:
- 1 tea bag
- water
- sweetener, if desired
- cinnamon stick, if desired
- tray of ice cubes
Steps:
- Fill glass 1/3 of water. Submerge a tea bag. Add the cinnamon stick, if using. Microwave for one minute or steep in boiling water 3 minutes.
- Fill with room temperature water until glass is 1/2 to 2/3 full. You want to cool down the water so it is not boiling anymore. Add sweetener, if using.
- Put ONE ice cube in. If you are preparing this in a glass, you don't want the extreme changes in temperature to crack the glass. I learned this the hard way.
- When the one ice cube melts, put in the second ice cube. You will find the first few ice cubes melt rather quickly.
- When the water is cool, add the rest of the cubes. I end up using the entire tray.

I find that if you put a large metal spoon into the glass before adding ice cubes the glass will not break.
