Looking for information on this set. Having trouble identifying the name of the set #278 on the Internet. Trying to determine resale value, but not finding much else for sale in this style, and a browse through Replacements didn't yield a match. TIA for your help!

Most people when selling this type of china will list it as follows: RC 278 Japan Noritake fine china. I see where a service set of 12 asking prices is $69.99 on Esty. China prices have greatly declined in the last few years and many of the pieces people sell are ranging from $5-60 each. I don't think any of the Noritake china has a real name from what I can see on the different sites that are selling this china. People are just listing it with the number of the set and some call it antique and some just list it as fine china.
I found this set on eBay for 9 , just the bowls, asking $450.80 + shipping, Replacements was out of stock, and didn't have a date on more inventory - www.ebay.com/
Replacements calls your pattern 278 by Noritake:

Not much is known about it.
When this happens, I always recommend to take the set to a consignment store and have them sell the set for them--or since you have so many pieces--sell it locally on your own--like through a flea market or yard sale.
Since Replacements doesn't have a lot of info and I can't find any that have sold you can ask what you want and then take best offer.
Start high and accept what is offered. Dish sets are so hard to sell and I have seen them sell as low as $25 for a full set.
So sad! Post back with an update!
