I have planted bamboo in a corner of my yard and surrounded it with a PVC walled trench filled in with mulch. If I'm diligent in spring and fall, I can intercept sneaky bamboo rhizome roots trying to cross the trench and stop them from spreading everywhere. But if I'm laid up and can't do this, then they'll take advantage of it! Happily, I've noticed that wild or escaped domesticated rabbits about the neighborhood seem to like the taste of young bamboo as much as panda bears do. So now it seems that the rabbits are policing those containment trenches for tasty edibles before I even know they are under there! :)

I'm just learning how varied the rabbit diet is. Now, you tell me they eat bamboo. That comes as a real surprise. I learn so much on ThriftyFun. Thanks for that bit of info, Mitch!
