I recently dyed my hair at the salon from a dark brown/almost black to a lighter brown balayage type of color. I want to dye it back since I think it was poorly done, the colors don't blend well and I just overall don't like it. At first it looked like a copper brown, but now it settled down to just a lighter brown. I want to dye it back myself. Perhaps an even darker color than before so more of a black. Would that still be damaging to my hair even though I want to go darker instead of lighter? Also I got it done about five days ago, should I wait longer?

Wait a month and deep condition weekly
All hair color has peroxide developers that are nessacery for the color to lift (lighten) or deposit (darken) the color into your hair. Darkening isnt as damaging as lightning because the peroxide is a lower level. If your hair is mostly healthy now (not breaking off when you brush or style it) it shouldnt be terribly damaged by applying a dark color over the current one.
My personal opinion as to waiting to apply the darker color is that its not going to damage your hair if you want to do it now. I hope this helps you.
