I have brown hair with year old blond hair lights. I washed my hair then colored it with Revlon dark blond. Only the top by my roots turned a lite red, orange color. Can I recolor it? I wanted it lighter.

Anytime you try to add blond hair color to brown hair it will do this. You actually need to have your hair stripped of the brown color in order to apply the blond. You can strip your hair yourself, but this can also damage your hair. I would suggest to go to a hairdresser and have this one done.
To go from darker to lighter, takes a two-step process. You lift off the dark color and deposit the light. This is best done by a professional.
Sounds like youre trying to go lighter over a permanently darker colour. Therefore, you'll have to strip it first.
