Re-dyeing Hair?

I re-dyed my hair red about 3 days ago. I had dyed my roots and so far a don't like it at all and want to go back to my natural hair color of dark brown. It was a permanent hair color and I want to re-dye it with a permanent color. Also I don't want to use a color remover because last time I did that it fried my hair off. What should I do?

I would deep-condition for a couple of weeks and then get a professional to fix it. If money is an issue go to a beauty school. The students are very well supervised and the prices are reasonable.

Wash it with a clarifying shampoo a few times over the week, then put dark brown permanent over it. Have the ends trimmed when all is done.

under these circumstances I always reccomend people go with henna. Henna is an ancient ntural plant based dye that some people use to do semi permanent tattoos, and others use to cover their greys when they dont' want to use harsh chemicals.

People also use it to dye their hair under these circumstances when they don't want to risk damaging their hair. It can be done safely at home

I would mix blue Dawn dish soap with baking soda. Add enough baking soda to the point it like thickness of a milk shake. Wash your hair with it and leave it in your hair for 45-60 minutes. Rinse it out afterword then wash and condition your hair like normal. If all dye doesn't come out, you can do it one more time... If you feel at any time before or yrs after this, your hair is dry, add coconut oil to your hair, leave in for at least 3 hrs, then wash and condition your hair...

Sorry you are having a rough go with the dyes. Take a few weeks now and be kind to your hair. Don't over style, wash, or fuss with it and if you must, use gentle and natural conditioners. If it were me, I would do the very minimum for those weeks so your hair can "recover".

This website has some long time standards for home made conditioners/masks:

When I was young, the banana mask was a very inexpensive go to with bananas that were going to be tossed because they weren't edible (browning).

Word of caution though... be sure to rinse it out thoroughly (but VERY gently) before going outside...especially when it is bee season...you don't want to become an attraction for the stingers of the neighborhood.

Good luck!! Take care!!
