Re-dyeing My Hair to Cover Gray?

I dyed my hair with a brand I had never used. The color did not take, and my grays are still there. I have a wedding to go to in 3 days. Can I re-dye it?

Yes, it is possible to re-dye your hair. However, before re-dyeing your hair it is best to condition your hair. You can even use a hot oil treatment on your hair first. Then buy your normal brand of hair dye and dye your hair again.

If the gray did not take, you need to buy a brand made for resistant gray. There are also products that you can add to your color to make it more permeable. Lastly, you could pretreat the resistant portions with 30 developer for 5-10 minutes to open up the cuticle. Rinse off and blow dry. Then color as usual.

You can color whenever you want since the color didn't take. Condition the day before.

I would say yes you can. Check the ingredients of the product first though, If it is natural go ahead but if it has bleach I would wait another day and then do it

You have 3 days - are you sure you want to take a chance on how a re-dye will turn out? Do you have a hairdresser that you see on even a semi-regular basis? Even it if is just for a trim they will know a little about your hair and may be able to give you advice or maybe it would be better to pay them for the re-dye if they feel it would take.

If you do not have a hairdresser that you visit then I would suggest asking a friend (that dyes their hair) if they can suggest someone. All I am saying is - are you sure you want to take this chance with only 3 days - if it does not take like you want then you will have no chance to make amends.

You can and if you have not already, I'd visit a professional.

Yes you can re-dye your hair, the dye you used was probably old. I have done the same thing with dollar store dyes they do not take.I go right ahead and dye it again.
