A mix of healthy ingredients for your bird, baked into a bread, and served warm every day. My birds love it and will gobble it right up; and I like it because it's healthy for the birds.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup rye flour
- 1/4 cup cream of rice
- 1/4 cup Malt-O-Meal
- 1/4 cup grits
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 5 4-oz jars of assorted baby foods (any variety)
- 1 cup chopped broccoli
- 2 eggs (with shells, washed thoroughly and ground fine)
- 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 cup puffed rice cereal
- 1 cup juice as needed
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Chop broccoli in food processor, and add eggs and shells until the shells are ground finely. Add remaining ingredients, adding juice as needed. Pour (spread) in 2 glass loaf pans.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cooking times are approximate. Can also be baked in a muffin tin.
Feed a portion of warmed bread to your bird every day.
