Is it OK to make cookies with recalled Jif peanut butter?

No, I would not risk it. Although the salmonella might cook out, cookies are not really cooked very much so there is a good chance they might make someone sick. Salmonella can be deadly in certain situations.
You can get your money back or a replacement by taking the jar back to the store or by contacting the manufacturer directly. Here is some more information from the FDA.

That's what I was thinking but I wanted some opinions on this. Our grocery store is taking the peanut butter back and giving a refund. I have another jar that we have been eating on before there was a recall.
No, I would not risk that. Get another brand.
I can see someone using a product like this if they did not know about the recall but I do not believe anyone should take the risk of having health problems when they know a product has the possibility of being bad.
Nothing wrong with asking the question but I hope you will return it to the store and buy freshly made store-bought cookies until you feel safe buying a new product.
No...not worth the risk. Better to be safe than sorry.
