Several years ago I came across a recipe for a pepper jelly & cream cheese appetizer/dip that was a cherry pepper jelly with light Karo syrup, almond extract, and even slivered almonds. I found it during Christmas and made it for a couple of parties - including New Year's eve. It was a huge hit! I somehow lost the recipe and have never been able to find it again since! Does anyone have this recipe?

Here is one recipe for cherry pepper jelly that you can make at home. The other for making a dip seems pretty simple. After making your homemade jelly jsut pour it over the top of your cream cheese and add the other ingredients. eliotseats.com/
All kinds of pepper jelly recipes can be found but most just use pepper jelly and cream cheese and rarely add any other ingredient (some use different kinds of pepper jelly).

Do you make your own pepper jelly or purchase it ready made?
I was just curious as I'm experimenting with making pineapple pepper jelly and I'm hoping it is worth the extra effort over buying it in a jar.
I believe you could take your favorite pepper jelly and experiment with adding just a small amount of each of the other ingredients until you have the taste you like. If you try this, be sure to keep good records as you go so you can make the same dip in the future.
I'm using these sites to find recipes for my pineapple jelly and their recipes have good instructions.
This one uses cherry peppers instead of cherries (but you can always use dried cherries instead of fresh in most recipes).
You could pull up several cherry pepper jelly recipes online to choose to make. Then pull up pepper jelly with cream cheese appetizer recipes and add those missing ingredients to it; some guess work on amount of slivered almonds, extract and syrup.
Use this recipe and substitute cherry pepper. www.allrecipes.com/
This one used to come to work parties and it amazing...it is from the Karo site....is it the one you remember?

Sadly I can't make it any more because we have too many nut allergies in the family. Well, let me rephrase that, I can make it and eat it all myself...but that would not be good for me :)
Happy partying!
Thanks Pghgirl for finding this (I knew it must be on the Karo site somewhere!) as this sounds good and I'm going to try it soon although I may leave off the almonds also.
WooHoo!!! This is it! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
