Recovery Time for Puppy with Parvo?

My 11 month old terrier/Cattle dog mix has parvo. The day after he started showing signs, we took him to an emergency vet clinic where they confirmed parvo. We chose the outpatient treatment; he got anti-nausea injections and fluids. He isn't throwing up and doesn't have diarrhea yet. Will these symptoms come later down the road? We've been giving him Pedialyte and Pepto Bismol, but he's still not showing any signs of improvement.

Keep following the vet's advice to the letter and if there are any changes or things get worse, take him back to the vet who has already established the care.

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Just like people, pups recover at different paces and have good and bad days. It is important to follow the vet directions and keep positive!! Take care! Post back how things go!!

Different dogs recover at different rates, and it can be a slow recovery. If the symptoms come back, you have to contact the vet immediately. Wishing you good luck.

We woke up this morning and he had diarrhea, fortunately there is no blood yet (I read that bloody diarrhea is common with parvo) We took him straight to our local vet and he got another injection of fluids. He fights us over the pedialyte being syringed into his mouth so were hoping the injections help along with however much pedialyte we can get into him. Another problem were having is his unwillingness to swallow the antibiotic and anti nausea pills he was prescribed.

It takes almost an hour to finally get them down his throat and at the end of it, both my puppy and I are super stressed and he runs and hides. Any tips on how to get him to take the pills that wouldnt be as stressful? Thank you in advance for any advice :)

If he is still eating try giving him the pills wrapped in a little hamburger. Or there is a product called "pill pocket" you can get in pet stores. Parvo can take from a couple of weeks to a month to run its course.

Usually they are quite sick form 10 days to 2 weeks. Some are sick for a few days. You need to keep in touch with your Vet as his symptoms change. It is very important.
