Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 239 Posts This is so cute and easy to make. Use any size lid from a jar and acrylic paint. If you don't have black and red cardstock or paint then allow yourself a little "poetic licence" and make your ladybirds in other crazy colours.
Supplies:
- red cardstock
- black cardstock
- paper glue
- 1 metal lid
- 2 wiggle eyes
- scissors
- marker pen
- black acrylic paint
- paintbrush
Steps:
- Draw around the lid on the red cardstock.
- Cut out the red disc.
- Cut off the top third of the disc.
- Cut small circles of black cardstock for the ladybird dots.
- Make 2 wings by cutting the remaining red cardstock in half.
- Glue the dots to the wings. If you prefer you could draw the dots with a marker pen.
- Paint the metal lid with black acrylic paint.
- Add the wings and wiggle eyes while the paint is still wet and it will act like glue.
- If you make a mistake (like I did) and get a little of the black paint in the wrong place you can cover it up with more dots using the marker pen.
- Hang the ladybird on a nail or use sticky tack.
- Lots of ladybirds (ladybugs) in different colours and sizes would look lovely covering a whole wall.
