A small votive tipped over and candle wax dripped on a friend's white low-pile carpet. Unfortunately the candle was red. I think she can remove the wax, but she's afraid the red coloring will leave a stain on her carpet. Any tried-and-true remedies?

I once had one of those large red candles drip all over a light gray carpet which would be similar to her problem. First, scrape off what you can with a table knife. Then get several brown paper bags or a roll of brown paper and lay a piece over the was. Take a dry iron and put it on the paper, leaving it just long enough for the wax to be aborbed by the paper. Keep changing/moving the paper till you have it all cleaned up. It takes a long time but eventually it does work. After you get all the wax up, clean as usual.
