Hey all. I don't have the option to save a lot on all my utilities, but I have learned to save a lot on my water. Here is how:
- Always use your bathtub to collect all your wash water, That water can be carried to your washer and you reuse it to wash the clothing, don't wait days because if you leave the water 1 or 2 days it starts to smell funny.
- Wash dishes in dishpans in the sink; one for the real washing, the other just for rinsing. This water can be used to flush toilets or, if relatively clean without oil or chunks, you can wash dog blankets or cleaning rags.
- If it is possible, get your washing machine on a toggle that will allow it to be diverted outside into a tub for washing a dog or anything really dirty. This can be used also to water your grass if there is no bleach and you use environmentally safe detergents.
OK I hope someone will reduce water bills after reading this.
