I have cooked and frozen hamburger meat. Can I add that to tomato sauce, re-cook and then refreeze?

I refreeze after cooking all the time. It works great. (02/24/2007)

I have refrozen food after cooking for years and never had a problem. A friend of mine had her freezer go out and she caught it while everything was still very cold. She spent the day cooking, but she saved the contents. (02/24/2007)

I have done it before and had no trouble. I always separate my meats when I go shopping. I shop once a month, so, I buy a lot of meat. I freeze them, take out and thaw, cook whatever and then freeze leftovers. Not an issue here and no one ever got sick. (02/26/2007)

Yes, you can add it to spaghetti sauce, then re-freeze, or cook hamburger patties, and re-freeze. (02/27/2007)

We also do it and we're still here! :) (03/04/2007)
