I found 2 chairs at Goodwill that will fit with my outdoor deck for extra seating, with little cost. Goodwill had a sale and I got both chairs for under $5. With some outdoor fabric and paints, I transformed them!
Total Time: 3 hours
Yield: 2
Supplies:
- outdoor fabric
- black spray paint - I used Rustoleum
- staple gun
- spray silicone water-guard
- stencil, optional
- craft paints, optional
Steps:
- Remove the seat cushions by removing the screws from the bottom of the chairs. Sand any rough paint spots as needed.

- After removing the cushions, I spray painted the chairs using black Rustoleum paint.

- Now to the cushions, the fabric was not in the best shape or color. Place your outdoor fabric right side down. Using the cushion as a template cut a piece of fabric 3 inches wider on all sides.
- Place cushion face side down in the center of fabric.
- With your staple gun start from the center of your fabric pulling tight. Put at least 1 staple in the center of all 4 corners of your chair. Finish by stapling around the rest of your cushion with your staple gun. Repeat with second chair.

- Reattach seat.
- I decide to add a stenciled decoration to the center of the chair seat. Optional.

- As extra protection, I used a silicone water-guard (optional).

What type of stapling gun did you use?
I have found that refurbished things like this usually give the
"maker" a good feeling every-time we see them.
Still quite a bit of work but what a nice job!!
Hope you and your family enjoys them for a long time.
