Reinforcing the Bottom of a Disposable Pan

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 677 Posts

Using cardboard to reinforce an aluminum pan.I like to give baked goods as gifts in disposable containers. However, sometimes the bottoms are flimsy. To reinforce them I tape a cardboard cereal box or other thin cardboard box I have. It makes it easier to transport, and I don't have to worry that the bottom will bend out of shape.

I have found that some of the flimsy disposable tin containers from the Dollar Store come in sets of 2 - for one dollar! Two pans - one inside of the other - is just right! And you can't beat the price!. Even if they don't come in a set of 2...buy another one the same size. Sometimes you need a different size or what you're making. Still a bargain at $2.00! I have seen disposable pans in grocery stores that are outrageous in price!
