My bully Pit has been really itchy for the past couple of weeks and has developed redness under her neck, over one of her eyes, and underneath both of her front legs. I cannot afford to take her to the vet; are there any suggestions as to what I can try until I can get her to the vet?

Coconut oil is a good moisturizer, and won't hurt the dog if he eats it.
My two dogs went thru this last fall. Vet said it was allergies but I was dubious. She prescribed cortisone to calm the inflammation. I used benedryl sparingly and brushed them down and gave them a bath with skin conditioners.
From my experience this is caused by two things. One he has a flea allergy or two the soap you're using to clean him with is bothering him. He could also have a food allergy and the food you are feeding him can cause this one too. You can try changing his diet and also the soap you bathe him with. As for fleas I would suggest giving him the 3 month pill they sell for fleas and ticks.
Dog's itchy skin.
Step 1
Try rubbing the dog down in olive oil.
Step 2
Rub it in to the dog's skin past the fur really massage it in.
