There is/was a book called "Facercize" and it was exercises from the face and they work. For eyelips, hold the skin at the outer edges of the eyes and and try to open your eyes as wide as you can. You should feel a slight pull. Next open your eyes as wide as you can and place your fingers just below your eyebrows and try to close your eyes.
As with any exercise, it will take some time, but it does work. Don't pull on the skin, but make the skin pull against being held. You can try different placements of your fingers and start with eyes open or closed, but you need to feel a pull to strengthen the muscles.
I had the surgery done about 15 years ago and it's the best thing I ever did. It lasts about 10 years I was told and mine have started drooping somewhat again.
When I was young, they called them "bedroom eyes". Now at 78 they are "droopy". Ha. Actually I bought and tried the Sudden Change eyelid lifter creme. You use such a tiny minute amount morning and night, it lasts a long time and short of surgery, it does pretty darn good.! At least I am pleased with the improvement.
