Did the hair shed because the chemicals burned it off his body, or because exposure to the chemicals caused a toxic hepatic reaction?
If it was exposure to chemicals on the skin, I imagine that treating the area would allow the hair to grow back eventually. If it was the other reason, then thigns to support detox and his liver might help bring it back.
My only experience with this was a neighbor's pomeranian who for whatever reason lost all his hair, save that on his head/face area and his paws.
In any event here's a guide to deal wtih that problem www.1800petmeds.com/
