I just got 14 teeth pulled yesterday as they were the only ones left to pull. I was no put to sleep. I just had numerous shots of Novocain. The dentist said in 25 years he's never given so much Novocain to anyone. I told him several times it does not work on me neither do epidurals. Anyway, the pain was beyond unbearable during the extractions that took several hours. I was then given to the dentist that is best trained with dentures.
He filed them a few times, but they were still so uncomfortable and painful. He gave me no post op instructions, nothing on the dentures and what to expect. All he said was keep them in your mouth 24/7. I was in so much pain I said okay and didn't realize he didn't give me any instructions.
Well, I'm coming on here due to the fact that I can barely keep them in my mouth due to blisters everywhere, I can't eat, drink or anything with them in except sometimes I can leave the top ones in. I'm looking for instructions/answers/tricks that anyone can give me. Thank you!

One remedy my mom always used and a dentist that worked with one of my clients used is moistened tea bags. They can even be used tea bags. When they are cool, pack them on your gums. I would follow the advice about having the dentures in most of the time for best fit later.
