Remedy for Pain fromM Partial Dentures?

I've had my partials for well over 6 months and just today started to get this horrible pain in my teeth where the metal from my partial goes across my teeth. I don't know if it's because the metal is rubbing on my teeth just below my gums or if a cavity is starting, but I do know it is very sensitive and very painful. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can stop this pain until I can see a dentist?
