I used Armour Etch cream on my everyday eyeglasses to remove scratches and the cream left a horrible smudgy film on my lenses. I cannot see through them now. How do I remove this smudgy film?

I'm afraid your glasses may not be fixable but you can try wiping them with white vinegar and I have heard some people tried using acetone (nail polish remover) and washing with mild dish washing soap but I know nothing about that and would advise using this as a last resort.
Amour Etch has been highly recommended for removing protective film but not necessarily scratches from eye glasses but should NOT be used on GLASS eyeglasses and that may be your problem.

Always remember that we can only make suggestions and have no way to tell you if these can work - or do harm - as eyeglasses are all different and can have different coatings and some suggestions may not work for your glasses.
Please be sure to use your own judgement as to whether to try any of these suggestions.
I feel that your glasses could be lost, this cream is designed to eat through glass for decorative purposes. You could take to a eyeglass vender and see if they can help resurface them to save them!
Etching cream is a compound that is specially designed to etch on glass and not made for removing scraches. The smudge you see is the product working on the glass and eating the glass away.
