How do you get Band-Aids off a stuffed cloth animal? They are really stuck to the cloth and rip when I try to pull them off.

STOP AND READ FIRST!I have a VERY smart MOM! In a panic I called her and she said "USE HAND CREAM". I used Jergens.
I applied a two drops, (just enough to cover the surface and around the edges), and I smeared it around. Then I started to pick off the band-aid with my nail and it peeled off in one piece! LEAVING NO RESIDUE! NO greasy mess, and no harm to stuffed animal!
Using any heat will melt the glue and cause you more trouble. Freezing it does no good. So try this! It really works!

Jergens worked great, but dont use too much or you will leave the lotion. Which is better to have cuz it will wash of easily
This really worked! Bandaids gone, plushy cat is fine. Try it first. You still have to pick and pull for a few minutes, but alls well that ends well

I was sitting here trying to figure out how to get sticky residue off my son stuffed animal. Sitting around picking at it was getting tiresome. I reached over and grabbed an Axe Body Spray so what the hell.

I am so excited this worked. My daughter gave me a fuzzy picture blanket for Christmas and my sons bandaid was stuck to it. TYSM, I love blankets and have a small collection of them, my younger siblings stole one of my favorites and got a couple of bandaids stuck to it and I didn't wanna rip the blanket trying to get them off.

Use 100% Acetone

yes this worked in a minute!! smeared it all around the edges with vaseline intenstive care lotion and the bandaid came right off my sons new furry sweatshirt!!
Put it in the dryer for a couple of minutes. This should soften it up.
This is not tried & true, just an idea on how to remove band-aids from a stuffed animal's fur. Try putting the toy in the freezer & see if the band-aid removes easily. Or use a hair dryer on the band aid, but that might leave sticky
residue. Then you'll have to post for ideas to remove that!
I would recommend laying a warm, damp cloth over the band-aid. Let it set awhile (15-20 minutes should be long enough,) then try gently lifting the band-aid. The moisture should loosen the glue, making it easy to remove, without damaging your stuffed toy.

Try blow drying the band-aid. It will melt the adhesive and then the band-aid should pull off.
Wonder if goo gone would work...it removes stickers. Use a tiny bit.

To help him with having to wear a band aide, we put one on his favorite friend, a cloth mouse. After just a few days we decided we should take it off, but it just came off in little pieces or not at all. I tried the lotion and it was like magic, the band aide just peeled right off. I just tried the hand lotion suggestion. Worked perfectly. I learned that you can apply it generously and it works better at saturating through. No need to limit it to a drop or two. I pulled up one edge by picking at it and used a toothpick to push the fur down to help get the Bandaid off completely.

this is a few years later, but thank Goodness these posts were left up! The lotion did it so quickly! I just put a very small amount of lotion from a pump bottle(this was Cera Ve, but I believe ANY would work - put my finger on top of the band aid area - and it FELL off! I might just have to put a little spray and wash or any stain remover on next time I wash (in my case, this was a fluffy throw I keep near my sofa, in case I get cold).. to take away any kind of oil residue! AMAZING! Thanks so much!
OMG.. Hand lotion that was mentioned previously definitely works. My daughters pants had a band aid infusioned on it! Most likely from the dryer, so heat makes it worse. I tried an ice cube, which didn't do much. But the hand lotion (I used Aveeno) worked great - it took at least 5 times of constantly rubbing the lotion, but within 1 1/2 minutes it was completely off . Yeah!!!

Don't worry, this method using rubbing alcohol WILL work! Instead of panicking, just tell your child that their belived stuffed animal needs their special doctoring skills for their first surgery: a bandaid-ectomy! Try to make this a fun learning experience instead of a stressful one.
Don't worry, RUBBING ALCOHOL will fix this! Here are the supplies you'll need: 1) rubbing alcohol, 2) Q-tip, 3) small bowl, 4) flat-tipped tweezers, 5) color-safe work surface, like a tray.
NOTE: it is possible that alcohol will remove some color or cause it to bleed, so test first on a hidden section of material, and proceed slowly and with care. However, I have tested this on a number of plush toys in all different colors (including bright red), and not one had any damage or bleeding of color at all. Even if color does bleed a bit, the plush toy itself will not be damaged (unless a part of it is glued together - think glued-in plastic googly-eyes).
A BONUS: Alcohol dries/evaporates quickly, and the minimal odor of the alcohol will also dissipate quickly for a no-mess solution!
STEP 1
Pour a small amount (~1 tablespoon) of rubbing alcohol in a small bowl or cup. Using Q-tip, dip in alcohol and swab entire outer surface of bandage, especially the outer edges. Wait 10-15 seconds for alcohol to dissolve bandage adhesive.
STEP 2
Using flat-tipped tweezers (NOT point tweezers, which are more likely to accidentally grab material and damage it), gently scrape the edge of the bandage using just one end of the tweezers (in open position) until a small portion of the bandage is lifted. Then using both ends (in closed position), gently grab the bandage and slowly lift until the entire bandage is removed.
If bandage resists removal, or breaks into smaller pieces which remain stuck, reapply alcohol (STEP 1) and try again. Just be patient, this WILL work.
Alternative Method Without Tweezers: If you don't have tweezers, cut the bandage in half through the middle of the section with the absorbent pad (where there is no adhesive). This will give you a small place to grab the bandage with your fingers to lift it off.
