Removing Bleach Odor from Chair Cushion?

Bleach spilled on my rocking chair seat cushion. It has been airing for 3 days and is now dry. It smells very bad. Is there a product or any way to remove the odor?

I'd do a hot vinegar cycle in the wash if they fit. If they don't, sprinkle with baking soda and brush around, leave outside in the sun for several days.

Remove bleach odor:

  1. Take the cover off the cushion and place this outside in the direct sun.
  2. Leave this out all day.
  3. When you bring this in the house, sprinkle baking soda on the cushion.

  5. Leave the baking soda on the cushion for an hour and check if the odor is still there.
  6. If it is then let it stay on a bit longer.
  7. When the odor is gone, use your vacuum cleaner with your upholstery brush and vacuum up the baking soda.
  8. Replace the cover on the cushion.

Getting rid of bleach smell.

Step 1
Make a paste of baking soda and vinegar.

Step 2
Rub it on the bleach spot.

Step 3
Let it dry and sponge it all off with soap and water.

I would try Fabreeze, it can virtually get out all smells from furniture. At least this has been my experience.
