My son spilled a melted blue candle on our new tan carpet. How do I remove the wax stain?

Place an old towel over the wax stain, press with a hot iron. This worked very well for me. Also, I've heard putting ice of the spot will lift the wax. I'd place the ice in a freezer bag first.
