I would go with a brown paper bag rather than the paper towel, which has a lower burn factor. Start with the iron on LOW. Easier to error on the side of safety.

Son #1 did not listen to entire instructions after the candle tipped on their new carpet. He called again for "WHAT DID YOU SAY?", after he forgot the paper and just ironed the carpet. Nice iron mark! (02/03/2009)
