Could you please tell me the name of a solvent that will remove diesel stains from clothing. I am in New Zealand.
Thank you and have a great day.
There is a product called Lestoil that is specially made for oil and grease stains.
My grandfather owned a garage all his life and would come in from work with grease stains on his clothes. My grandmother would apply the hand cleaner he used in the garage on the stains and this removed them from his clothes. You can also try Oxyclean this works almost the same if you do not have any grease cleaner for hands.
I'm not sure about what name brands you have in New Zealand or if they will ship these products but here are some names.
Lestoil is not always easy to find but it is an excellent product for removing grease stains. I buy mine online from Walmart.
Goop hand cleaner usually works but not sure about diesel stains.
This is also sold online but is also sold in all auto parts stores and is not expensive.
We have Dollar Stores here in the US and they have a cleaner - Awesome - this is used by a lot of mechanics and it is very cheap.
This is sold in Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Amazon (more expensive).

Find a clean and well ventilated area (preferably outside, but protected from sun and weather). Lay the item flat then if you can get a box of baking soda and if you can get Vanish Ultra Degreaser pour that straight onto the baking soda. With a white rag gently massage this into the stain. Let it sit for an hour or so and rinse in a bucket of cold water and if you are permitted, flush the dirty water down the toilet--or whatever way you dispose of water tainted with fuel.
Oxyclean is the best!
