This afternoon my teenage son came home after helping a friend paint his grandmothers fence frantic because he got white paint on his bright purple name brand pants. I told him I didn't think there was anything we could do, but of course mama had to try. I went to my old go to impossible stain remover and voila, worked like a charm so I knew I had to share! I used 91% rubbing alcohol & a little patience. I work in small sections applying enough alcohol to lightly saturate the area & then I blot it with a clean towel (rag). There no color fading or piling!
Try cleaning the area with lemon essential oil. Can be found at a craft store.
I brushed the back of my Eddie Brauer down feather long coat on flat finished white paint 7 months ago. It's made of 52% nylon, 32% polyester, 15% cotton. I used shout triple action, it's a stain remover. I did a section at a time and it worked. Don't saturate or put too little just enough to cover the stain. Wait a few seconds then use a dry paper towel with pressure and wipe back and forth.
