The first question would be - did you put this in the dryer before you noticed the color run?
It will be more difficult to remove the stain/transfer if it has been in the dryer because the heat tends to "set" the color/stain.
If dryer is yes or no, the solution will be the same except it will take more time if dryer was used.
- I would suggest you use your kitchen sink (if you can make it hold water for a time) for soaking this item but it will have to soak for several hours so if your sink cannot be used then you can use a bucket or any container that will hold your jalaba.
- You will need one of these items; non-chlorine bleach or oxi clean and powder form is best. you will be using cool water so read the directions on the oxi-clean for amount needed for a gallon or two of water (however much water you need) and dissolve the oxi-clean in some warm water before adding it to the cool water.
- Mix oxi-clean and water thoroughly before placing garment in sink/bucket. Be sure there is enough water to completely cover garment freely.
- Allow garment to soak for several hours (move it around in container a few times during this soaking period). Let soak overnight if jalaba was placed in dryer.
- Use a half load on washer and pour water and garment into washer (if this is possible). If you used sink then just put garment in a container and transfer it to the washer. Run washer through full cycle (use gentle if this is what you normally use for this garment).
- Check garment to see if this method worked.
- If it did not then you may need to buy something called "color run remover".
- Do not make the mistake and buy Color Grabber or Color Catcher as these two products are for keeping colors from running in your washer and NOT for removing a color run that has already happened.

If your jalaba is cotton, and none of the other solutions listed below work for you, would you ever consider embracing the color bleed and doing some intentional bleed and bleach to make an unique and customized "tie dye"? I have done this when nothing else worked...granted it was with shirts and not something as special as a jalaba, but they turned out nice and I was able to give the shirts a new life.
I am not talking teenage kid tie die...but lovely adult patterns. They take a little effort, but can be quite stunning! Here is a link for what I mean:
