If they are white cotton, add some bleach to the laundry along with a little oxyclean. It works on my husbands clothes very well.
Soak them overnight in a couple capfuls of hydrogen peroxide, a couple spoonfuls of dishwasher detergent, and 5 gallons of hot water.
