inwas dyeing my friends hair at her house, I put a large towel under the bowl of hair dye and a towel on the floor just in case a spill.
Her dog ran buy and grabbed the towel in his mouth and pulled the towel with a hard jerk, the bowl went flying turning over on the table past were the towel was and fell on to the towel on the floor splashing what was left in the bowl on to the table leg?
Immediately tried to get it off before it could absorbe into the wood
It absorbed in and stained this light oak wood as soon as it touched it. This was a old but beautiful well kept table?
I fell responsible and have tried several things to fix this mess.
My last attempt was to use an electric sander at least on the leg to see what would happen, after a long time sanding the dye just
has stoked so far into the wood it didn't sand off. From using brillow pads nail polish remover etc.etc.
All I could think of is to find a few colors of acrilic paints and seal it with some polyurethane clear coat. Maybe that will hide it a little or buy her a new table. Any other ideas?
