Removing Musty Smell from a Wedding Dress?

Our daughter bought her wedding dress three years ago. She tried it on for fitting last month and discovered an unpleasant musty smell. It's been hanging in the basement in it's original garment bag since it's purchase. Of course, this isn't the delicate scent she wishes for on her wedding day in a month.

Is it best to hang it outside for a day or two in the breezy, sunny weather? Should she call the bridal shop for their ideas? I imagine it's been a question of others. Thanks.

Put dryer sheets in the bag the dress is in.

I would air it out in front of an open window. If you do the dryer sheet, I would use a clean bag, not the same garment bag as it also would have the smell. A dry cleaner can deodorize it with an ozone machine.
