I happened to touch a very important document with my nails and they left very ugly dried nail polish spot on the paper. What can I do to remove the nail polish from the paper?

In my humble opinion unless it's a very valuable antique type document just leave it alone. If it is an antique document, where selling it in as perfect condition as possible for oodles of money makes a difference, I would hire a professional restoration company that specializes in such documents.
